Worship – Regular Services
St. Oswald’s holds a range of church services, essentially based on The Holy Communion (Second Order) from A Prayer Book of Australia. Further details for any of these services can be found by contacting our Vicar Fr. Malinda de Mel.
Sundays
8.00am – Said Eucharist
This is a said service of Holy Communion of a more contemplative nature, which is followed by breakfast in the church hall.
10.00am – Sung Eucharist
This service is again a traditional Holy Communion service but featuring sung hymns, psalm, gospel acclamation, and mass setting. The choir regularly sings at these services to support the congregational singing. There is usually a Prelude, music during communion and a Postlude played on the Knud Smenge pipe organ by the Music Director. Morning tea is served in the church hall after the service.
Wednesdays
10.00am – Said Eucharist
This is a said service of Holy Communion held in the Chapel. It is again a quiet, contemplative form of service. It is followed by morning tea in the hall.
First Sunday of Each Month
5.00pm – Sinhalese Service
This service is a Holy Communion service held not in English but in the Sinhalese language for the local Sri Lankan community. It is led by Fr. Mal and features sung hymns and other music.
